Capacitive Effect to Treat Tumors – First Studies

چکیده
The aim of this paper is to indicate the Electrostatic Treatment – EST (capacitive effect) as a cancer therapy and the studies that were be done by our research group using Electromagnetic Field Theory to explain the effects over the tumors. EST is a original, not expensive and non invasive cancer therapy which consists in to apply on a tumor continuos (dc) voltage (up to 3,000 V) across two electrode plates during 21 days. Each 3 hours the polarity of electrode plates is changed. Indeed, due the high output impedance of the equipment, the displacement current to charge the capacitor plates stabilizes normally around 5 μA. This current may reach 10 μA due the production of sweat between the patient skin surface and the electrode plates. So, considering the magnitude of the displacement current the equipment is safe to be used by patients. Additionally, each electrode plate of the equipment have an internal aluminum foil enclosed in an isolating dielectric material. The principal contribution of this paper is a indication of a new mathematical model, called Poisson-Nerst-Planck equation (PNP), which try to explain the EST results over the tumor.
